Acquisition and Application

A Blend of Acquisition and Application of Learning

Last week saw the K Lamb Associates delivery teams splitting themselves into 2 groups, delivery of Aquisition Training and facilitation of Application of Skills. One of the core strengths of KLA is the depth of knowledge and ability at all command levels enabling our associates to comfortably switch between these 2 disciplines.  In Merseyside Fire and West Midlands Fire, as per our contractual arrangements with them, our teams spent the week delivering more SFJ Awards Level 6 Award in Advanced Incident Command Courses. Both large organisations now have their own state of the art Incident Command Training facilities that enhanced the experience of the delegates. Some great group think sessions cultivating an environment of learning. Feedback received has been very warm;

“Any commander who wants to develop their knowledge, understanding and technical skills in a commander environment needs to go on this course with KLA. The course is well thought out catered for individuals learning and delivered at a rate and pace easily digestible. The KLA team are all very approachable, have a wealth of experience and want to impart that knowledge on to you for you to be able to be the best commander you can be on an incident ground. A fantastic course.” Kris Darnley SFJ Awards Level 6 Award.

“This training confirmed where I am in my current development and also the learning needed to progress my career.” Mark Sopp MFRS SFJ Awards Level 6 Award.

In Greater Manchester Fire a combined ICL3 & ICL4 assessment delivery team spent the week facilitating several Revalidation Assessments. Another service with excellent training facilities, the delegates enjoyed dealing with challenging realistic scenarios bespoke to their risk area. Feedback so far is very positive;

“I always enjoy the KLA training and assessment on incident command. Another positive experience, thank you.” Simon Wood GMFRS ICL3 Revalidation Assessment.

“Really enjoyed the input and the assessment. Realistic and managed in the right way by the KLA staff.” ACFO Barry Moore GMFRS ICL4 (Tactical) Revalidation Assessment.

“The session was welcomed and tailored to my needs to refresh knowledge prior to the assessment, practical examples used in explanations.” ACFO Sarah Nattrass GMFRS ICL4 (Tactical) Revalidation Assessment.

In UK Territories Overseas, the Bermudian FRS enjoyed their 1st week of KLA’s ICL2 Revalidation Assessments. Always a willingness to develop and improve, the BFRS candidates immersed themselves in the learning environment encouraging some interesting group discussions.
