No Frills Just Development of Skills

“Loved it. Genuinely, having undertaken so many courses that are seemingly stuffed with unnecessary bits purely to justify the time this was such a refreshing change. Everything had a purpose, all conversations led somewhere and the way it was run by the 3 assessors put me at ease whilst still making me want to do my absolute best. An absolute masterclass of how to get people to really understand some of the stuff we've all paid lip service to.” AM Matt Chapman Oxfordshire FRS (OFRS)

Amazing feedback after K Lamb Associates delivery of SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command. Hosted by Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, delegates joined from Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service. The group discussions were fascinating thanks to the operational experiences shared by the delegates.

Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue hosted Phase 2 of SFJ Level 4 Award in Designing and Delivering Incident Command Training. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service joined the course which saw delegates demonstrating learned skills.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service hosted a SFJ Level 4 Award in Intermediate Incident Command. Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service sent delegates, and the shared learning was amazing. Feedback for this course is testament to the quality delivery.

“I would like to thank all the instructors for their understanding of my needs and were very supportive throughout the course. The interaction between everyone on the course was really good, as there were candidates from 3 different services we worked well as a team and bonded very quickly. This was partly down to how the instructors run the course. The scenarios were very interesting and well organised and met the needs of everyone.”

Humberside Fire hosted the latest in a series of SFJ Fire Control Commander (CCS) Course. This course is really gaining traction with Fire Service Control Rooms. We’ve had several enquiries from other services with course bookings imminent.

“I really enjoyed the course despite being apprehensive. I feel like I was able to fully embrace with the course with the support of Kev and Mark. They got so much out of me without me even realising. I was pushed to reach my full potential. I have now learned new tools that I can bring back onto watch and help develop and improve me as a control commander.”

In NYFRS a KLA delivery team facilitated SFJ Awards-Effective Command-ICL2 Revalidation Assessments. Three candidates experienced some challenging and appropriately complex scenarios.
