Full House...ICL2, ICL3 and ICL4 and a SFJ Awards level 7 Award all in the same week!

An incredible week for K Lamb Associates as our teams delivered ICL2, ICL3 and ICL4 revalidation assessments in different fire services as well as the delivery of another SFJ Awards, Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command with an international flavour.

Lincolnshire Fire engaged our services to deliver the latest in a series of ICL2 revalidation assessments. Using their training facilities, the delegates were exposed to challenging scenarios made even more realistic by excellent role playing by FDO’s from LFRS.

In Nottinghamshire Fire and East Sussex Fire our teams facilitated more ICL3 revalidation assessments. These state-of-the-art facilities enhanced the experience of the delegates all of which rose to the challenge afforded them using bespoke scenarios.

Cambridgeshire Fire welcomed us to their excellent training facilities at Huntingdon. Over the course of days, in-line with their 2-yearly incident command revalidation, four of their Strategic Commanders experienced immersive scenarios pushing their command skills to the limits. Like all our assessments the use of KLA’s Effective Command Behavioural Marking Framework provides the delegate with tangible feedback which then builds into their overall picture identifying trends in incident command at various levels.

“I look forward to continuing to work with KLA as we progress our command training including command support training which was extremely useful in the scenarios we had this week.” ACFO Stuart Smith Cambridgeshire Fire

Finally, in Hertfordshire Fire our strategic assessors were welcomed as we delivered another phase 1 of the SFJ Awards, Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command. Three other delegates formed this cohort, 2 from West Midlands Fire and 1 from our international clients in Bermuda, Chief Fire Officer Dana Lovell. A fantastic course enriched by the diverse group of Strategic Officers who shared their wealth of experience.

“Excellent engagement and great feedback discussion that pulled our theory and practice out to gain a full understanding of what was required. I really enjoyed the professional discussions and the ability to link learning to my own service as well as my thoughts on how areas impact command. A talented group of trainers who were passionate and enthusiastic. A really enjoyable section of the course, listening to personal experiences of how they have managed incidents.” ACFO Darren Cook Hertfordshire Fire.

We ended the week with CFO Dana Lovell and ACFO Darren Cook (Herts) taking part in their phase 2 SFJ Awards, Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command, the practical SCG exercise hosted by Staffordshire Fire Civil Contingency Unit (CCU). With thanks to Bethan Morgan and her team for making the whole experience both authentic and realistic.
