Who trains the trainer....
We are delighted to have been instructed to deliver the SFJ Awards, Level 4 Award in Designing and Delivering Incident Command Training for Avon Fire. At K Lamb Associates we deliver a substantial number of SFJ Award courses relating to Incident Command, but it always a pleasure to deliver the training for the trainers. With so many UK Fire Services now building their own in-house state of the art training and development centres it is encouraging to see the same level of investment in their Incident Command Training Teams. A well-received course, 8 delegates have now completed phase 1 (3-days) of this qualification. We look forward to returning for completion of phase 2 later in the year.
Overseas, our delivery team once again landed in The States of Jersey to deliver 4-days of SFJ Awards- Effective Command-ICL2 & 3 revalidation assessments with The States of Jersey Fire & Rescue Service. Always a pleasure, the engagement and immersion in our scenarios from the Officers is commendable. A Sample of feedback received is below.
“This was an immersive and challenging assessment phase but extremely relevant and rewarding. Assured competence is a cornerstone of community and corporate risk management and the K Lamb Associates team play a very valuable part in our approach to both.” Jersey FRS
In Tyne & Wear Fire our delivery team was welcomed as they delivered another SFJ Awards, Level 6 Award in Advanced Incident Command in Fire and Rescue Services. A long-standing client, our course director has nothing but praise for the continued commitment to quality training which T&WFRS adhere to. Just look at these 2 examples of feedback from the delegates.
“A game changer in the world of Incident Command Training! The way in which the team delivered the content is unrecognisable in the UK FRS. One day, all Incident Command training will adopt this approach.” Tyne & Wear FRS
“The instructors on this course made a high-pressure course - enjoyable. The advice and guidance throughout was always delivered in a way that was understandable and relatable.” Tyne & Wear FRS.” Tyne & Wear FRS
Greater Manchester Fire facilitated another SFJ Awards, Level 3 Award (ICL1) in Initial Incident Command. A local delivery model, GMFRS’s own Incident Command Trainers delivered the course with one KLA trainer in attendance as part of our assurance audit required for this type of delivery model. As always, the use of the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool is integral to the assessment process on all our courses.
K Lamb Associates and Katherine Lamb welcome conversations from across the UK Fire Service. If you would like to know more about what we do and how we can offer a variety of delivery models, please contact us through our website on-line form.
