“Great session, very realistic and valuable.” CFO Ben Brook Warwickshire Fire

Warwickshire Fire invited us in to deliver 3 consecutive days, in person face to face, of SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Revalidation of Strategic Incident Command. Each day 2 of their Strategic Command Team attended to perform the role of Chair of a SCG and Fire (Gold) the former being assessed. Using a complex scenario the Chair was challenged to coordinate several issues raised by the various agencies represented through role players.

Increasingly K Lamb Associates are being asked to deliver a Revalidation of SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command. The subject of opportunities for Strategic Commanders to maintain Command Hours and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is reverberating around Fire Services nationwide.

Following an increase in demand, KLA have reviewed and redesigned our suite of Strategic Command products, now in partnership with Joe Hassell Command. We now offer 2 delivery methods, in-person face to face and on-line, and can accommodate both individual and group sessions ranging from 4-8hr sessions. The scenarios used in these sessions reflect NOG scenarios and most recent noteworthy events.

Revalidation of Incident Command continues as a theme, in Greater Manchester Fire and Oxfordshire Fire, KLA delivery teams facilitated both ICL3 and ICL4 (Tactical) Revalidations of Incident Command. Using the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Frameworks assessors delivered constructive feedback on performance generating reports and further data that can be used to inform services training plans.

“KLAs approach to Incident Command and the management of complex scenarios gives me the confidence to be able to deal with the most challenging of incidents in real life.” ICL3 Revalidation GMFRS.

“I have recently completed my ICL3 command revalidation with KLA. As always, the scenario was challenging whilst remaining realistic. The instructors hold a wealth of knowledge and experience between them and are always happy to share this with a view to developing all candidates where they can. Thank you.” ICL3 Revalidation GMFRS

“Thank you to the team at KLA. Competent input and credible feedback to provide assurance and reflection. Look forward to the next opportunity.” AM Ben Levy ICL4 (Tactical) Revalidation.

Two delegates, the CFO from Northamptonshire Fire and an Area Manager from South Yorkshire Fire, attended the final phase of their SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command. Having already completed several learning outcomes, through attendance on KLA’s 2-day workshop, this practical exercise simulated the sitting of a SCG following a declaration of a major incident. Authentic credible role players allowed each delegate to demonstrate skills in cordinating a response from multi-agency partners.
