It’s a team effort...
As we race past this year's halfway mark, the team that makes up K Lamb Associates will soon head off to the four corners of the globe on their summer holidays to take some well-earned rest from what continues to be an exceptional year of Fire Service Incident Command Training and Assessment delivery. Hopefully, fully recharged, the team will be ready to face what is shaping up to be a very busy September onwards.
However, before the locks on the cases can be shut, the KLA delivery teams managed to deliver 3 more courses. In Cambridgeshire Fire we delivered another SFJ Awards, Level 4 Award in Intermediate Incident Command. Delegates from Cambridgeshire FRS, Northumberland Fire, Humberside Fire and as far afield as Jersey Fire formed this group. Delegate feedback has been fantastic which is a measure of the quality products delivered by our teams.
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to Costa, Trev and Deano. Their dedication, experience, knowledge and professionalism were impressive. I really enjoyed the course and I have learnt a lot of information about myself and incident command.” SFJ Awards Level 4
“Very nice making the incidents service specific with particular focus on local risks. Knowing your audience worked well.” SFJ Awards Level 4
Working with West Midlands Fire, a KLA team delivered the latest SFJ Awards, Level 6 Award in Advanced Incident Command. Delegates all from this service formed a very inquisitive group that added to the richness of the group discussions.
In Oxfordshire Fire, we were welcomed back this time to deliver for them 2-days of SFJ-Effective Command Behavioural Marking Framework – ICL4 (Tactical) Revalidation Assessments. As part of their cycle of 2-yearly Assessment of Incident Command Exercises, four more Strategic Incident Commanders managed unique, challenging and complex scenarios all based around local risk areas. Feedback received from one delegate;
“A really challenging but creative scenario that really tested my command skills. Although this was under assessment conditions, it was an enjoyable experience and managed to be both an assessment but also a learning experience for me.” SFJ-EC-ICL4 Revalidation OFRS
After a hectic few months back in the UK, Katherine Lamb has now headed back to Canada with her family where after a short break she will continue at pace with the plan to further embed the Effective Command Tool along with associated training and assessment. She will be back though for the Emergency Services Show 2025, more detail on that to follow.
The KLA office continues to operate throughout the summer break so if your service could benefit from having a discussion with us about our Incident Command Training and Assessment products feel free to give us a call or contact us through our website, or email. We deliver credible Incident Command training always maximising the learning experience for the delegate. KLA’s credible Trainers and Assessors are massively experienced, and consistently deliver top quality Incident Command Training and Assessment.
